Transfer Your Personal Files from Amazon S3 to Box

If you are a consumer user (non-business) of Amazon S3 and planning to transfer your files on S3 to Box, you are at the right place. By this time, you already know that migrating large data manually would not only take a lot of time but also drain your internet data. In this article, we explained how Amazon S3 to Box migration can be speeden up and automated using CloudFuze.

Step 1: Create a CloudFuze Account

Go to webapp.cloudfuze.com and create a CloudFuze account. If you already have an account, log in to CloudFuze web app using your login details.

CloudFuze provides a limited free trial, but you would need a paid subscription to meet your data migration needs.

Step 2: Add Your Amazon S3 to CloudFuze

Locate the Amazon S3 icon from the list of personal clouds and click on it.

Step 3: Authorize Amazon S3

In the popup, enter your Amazon S3 login and access credentials. Then, click on the Add button.

Step 4: Add Box Account

Follow the same procedure mentioned in the above and add your Box account. Just click on the Box logo that you can in the list of personal clouds.

Step 5: Authorize Box

Authorize Box account by entering your account details in the popup. Once entered, click on the Authorize button.

Step 6: Grant Permissions

Click on the Allow button to grant permissions to CloudFuze.

Step 7: Verify Cloud Addition Process

Click on the Clouds icon on the left and then click on the Manage Clouds tab. You should be able to see both clouds here. If you didn’t see a cloud missing, you need to restart the cloud addition procedure.

Step 8: Start the Migration

Click on the Migrate icon in the menu bar on the left. This starts the migration process.

Step 9: Select Source and Destination Accounts

Choose Amazon S3 as a source and Box as the destination account for migration.

Step 10: Select Content to be Migrated

Choose the files or folders you wish to migrate. You can also transfer entire content in the Amazon S3 root to Box.

Step 11: Confirm Migration

Preview your migration preferences and click on the Confirm Migration button.

Step 12: Migration Is in Progress

When the file transfer is progress, CloudFuze displays the status as In-Progress. At this stage, you can cancel the migration if you wish.

Step 13: Migration Has Been Completed

Once the migration is completed, CloudFuze displays the status as Processed. You can download the migration report to get complete details of the files and folders migrated.
