Pause or Cancel When Transitioning from Slack to Google Chat
Transitioning from Slack to Google Chat, including migrating direct messages and Slack channels, needs a systematic approach and well-defined strategy.
To help businesses leverage the most advanced technology, we, at CloudFuze, have added a new feature to our Slack to Google Chat migration tool that can pause, resume, and cancel migrations anytime during the process.
Let’s briefly discuss how to pause or cancel direct messages when transitioning from Slack to Google Chat
Pause or Cancel Direct Messages Pairs Migration
To pause or cancel Slack direct message migration to Google Chat during transition, your company can use our advanced migration tool to temporarily pause the migration of direct message pair.
Pause DM Migration
In our migration tool, you can select ‘Direct Messages’ in Google Spaces Migration. Select the direct message pair you want to pause and click on the pause button in the migration tool. The highlight of the pause button on the tool is shown in the screenshot below.
Now, the migration of the selected direct message pair is temporarily paused and ‘Migration pause successfully’ is displayed as shown in the screenshot below.
Resume DM Migration
If you want to resume the migration of the direct message pair that was paused earlier, you can select the resume button on the migration tool as shown in the screenshot below.
After clicking the resume button, the migration of the direct message pair resumes as shown in the screenshot below.
Cancel DM Migration
Finally, if you would not like to proceed with the DM migration pair, you can click Yes as shown in the screenshot below when prompted to answer the question.
Migration of that particular DM pair is cancelled, and the status is displayed as “Migration cancel successfully”.
Pause or Cancel Channels Migration
Similar to pausing or cancelling direct messaging pairs during transition, you can pause or cancel public or private Slack channel migration to Google Chat. Both public and private Slack channels store important data and hence migrating them is crucial. However, if your organization does not want to migrate a specific channel, your team can pause or cancel migrating from Slack channels to Google Chat.
Pause Channel Migration
In our migration tool, you can select ‘Channels’ in Google Spaces Migration. Select the channel you want to pause and click on the pause button in the migration tool as shown below.
Now, the migration of the channel is temporarily paused as shown in the screenshot below and ‘Migration Paused Successfully’ is displayed.
Resume Channel Migration
If you want to resume migration of the paused activity, you can click the resume button to continue to import Slack to Google Chat.
After clicking the resume button, the migration of the channels will resume as highlighted in the below screenshot.
Cancel Channel Migration
To completely cancel the migration of the specific channel, you can click the cancel button and click Yes when the question is prompted as shown in the screenshot below.
Migration of the specific channel is cancelled, and the status ‘Migration cancel successfully’ is displayed on the migration tool.
