Migrate Slack Messages to Google Chat by Filtering Date Range
When planning to migrate messages from Slack to Google Chat, such as direct messages, choosing all the messages right from their creation date is the best approach to ensure accurate replication in Google Chat.
However, this strategy may not work for your business if the plan is to migrate group and direct messages selectively. We have introduced a new filter in our migration tool that lets your team filter the data range and migrate Slack messages selectively.
Filter the Date Range and Migrate Slack Messages Selectively
Explore the simple process of using our date filters for group and direct messages migration from Slack to Google Chat:
Filter the Date Range for Slack Channels
In the Channels mapping stage in our migration tool, click on the date under the “Channel Date” section to open the date range filter.
You can either choose the date presets, such as selection of last 3 months of messages, etc, or select your custom date range from the calendar filter. Click on “Apply” after selecting the date range.
Filter the Date Range for Direct Messages
Similarly, you can open the date filter by clicking on the date in the Direct Messages migration stage of our migration tool. You also have the option of choosing from the date range presets or selecting a custom date range.
